Originally from Cocoa Beach Florida, Dennis moved to Alabama to be near his children and grandchildren. He has a special interest in environmental issues and advocacy as well as music and arts education.

Dennis served as Executive Director for Eco Action and Development Director for The Environmental Learning Center in Central Florida. He has also served as Executive Director of the James Burton Foundation and Development Director for the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

Dennis holds a BA and MA in History from the University of Central Florida and an MS in Nonprofit Administration from Louisiana State University. He also received his certification in fundraising from the Edith Bush Institute for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Rollins College.
